Andrew's first day at school

It was Andrew's first day at school today. He is going to Hillview Christian School or as he calls Olivia and Tom's (his cousins) school. Here he is wearing his PE uniform. They wear this one day a week and then a different uniform on the other four days.
He thought it was pretty cool as they made letter boxes at school today. He had to show it to mummy when she and Rachel went to pick him up. Tomorrow they are going to paint them. His has chimney in case it was cold when you go and get the mail. He came home with his reading book which he has read to mummy and daddy. They also went to library. Tomorrow is show and tell. He wants to take the lego fire truck he got for his birthday. I have suggested that he takes the box.

Daddy and mummy took him to school and stayed for about 15 minutes before the class went off to music. Then we went for a coffee. Mummy was a little emotional about her son going off to school.
Sorry I meant to post this the other day. Posted by Picasa

Rachel's first day at Kindy

Today was Rachel's first day at Kindy. She is going Monday, Thursday and Friday mornings. Below is a photo of my very excited girl. She has been wanting to stay at Kindy for about a year now. She wasn't 100% sure about staying without mummy, but she was fine.

Since she got home she has talked all about going to Kindy (a contrast to older brother). Here are some of what she said:
  • 'I had lots of fun there'
  • 'I dance to the rainbow music'
  • 'There was a story about a Crocodile'
  • 'I played with the dolls with one of the teachers.'
  • Talking on the phone to daddy:'I am at home and I went to Kindy'
Before I left she was at the carpentry table where Andrew was. She tried to copy the big boys nailing things in with little success. Then she went to one of the teachers and asked for help.
Andrew was also excited about Rachel coming to Kindy. Before we left he had been telling her that he would be there but she would be in the teddy bear group and he was a star fish. (They have about 15 minutes in smaller groups during the session.) When we got to Kindy he had to tell all the teachers that it was Rachel's first day at Kindy. They will have about 6 sessions together before Andrew goes off to school in a few weeks.
